How are you?
Me? I'm well, thank you! I'm considerably less stressed and exhausted from when you last heard from me. We hired a storage unit and have moved Operation Méliès across town, reclaiming our lives and house in the process. Apart from those of you affected by poor postage service, you all now have your books and boxes and I'm hoping very much that you're enjoying them. All of the posts on social media have been wonderful and have left me feeling so happy that I embarked on this crazy project.
For the last month or so, I've been finishing off my new film HOLLYWOOD BULLDOGS, which has been a lot of fun. Hopefully that will get released in Summer 2021.
I've ordered some new Méliés merchandise, which should appear on the website in the next couple of weeks. Really fun stuff and great xmas presents.
In the meantime, I've decided to sell off the remaining stock of T-shirts to you guys at £10 each in a flash sale. The original moon t-shirts were made before Nolen Strals worked up the beautiful moon logo for the front of the book, future merch will all feature the Nolen version, so this is your last chance to get the photographic design. The Star Film shirts are also reduced to £10 for the next few days.

These two loaded trolleys at my local Post Office depot represent the completion of fulfillment and therefore <drumroll> the completion of this project!!!!
I'm so thankful to you for supporting me on this one and that you were so patient and trusted me to deliver. It's been a blast and, already, I only remember the best moments. The same might not be true for my wife Jen, who hand-tied the ribbon and badge on every single one of those boxes and allowed me to turn our tiny cottage into a horrible warehouse for the last few months - she is the person that I am most thankful to.
So, everything is posted now. We still have some books and box sets left, that's all up on www.georgesmelies.co.uk - and for those who bought the book, you can also still pay the difference to upgrade to the box set if you'd like. Message me if you want anything. That said, I'm going to go dark for a couple of weeks and not check any Méliès-related correspondence. Everything has been dispatched, if you still haven't received your order within 4 weeks (International) or 2 weeks (UK) do get in touch, but not before then, please. I just need a couple of weeks where i don't see that old-moonface and my daughter doesn't sadly say 'box' as she gets lost in a packing-materials avalanche. This weekend we rented a storage unit and today I have just finished removing any trace of this project from our house so that we can all have a little moment of recovery.
I've had a few of you asking what my next project is... there are two - a new film and a new book. The film is in post-production now. It's a new documentary called Hollywood Bulldogs, which tells the story of that legendary generation of British stunt performers who dominated Hollywood films during the 70s and 80s. The shoot went really well and we have some fantastic interviews with some real characters. We expect that to come out next summer.
My next book also looks at the life of a legendary filmmaker, but this time that filmmaker is very much alive and, thankfully, very much involved with the book. We've been working on it together for a couple of months and we're planning to launch it on Kickstarter next year. You guys will be the first to know.
